Hello Everyone

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the time lapse delay in getting my Chatelaine project to you, it has been a long old slog believe me. Anyway it is now finally here for you to listen to and love or pick to bits, whatever appeals the most to you.

Alan mixed four of the songs on the Album and Flood and Kurt Feldman from Pains of Being Pure at Heart both did remixes of Broken Bones.

Lou and I spent a while messing around with these tracks and generally got side tracked by small things as you do but we have finally let go and this is what it sounds like on the inside of our heads.

I am starting up my Facebook page and also Twitter so there will be some interesting things coming up in the near future to keep you entertained.

More to come soon,

Toni x

    Hey Toni!!
thank you so much for sharing your talent, which always end up into beautiful music.
Loving the new tracks already, especially “Take a Line for a Walk”.
Of the previous tracks, Broken Bones is still my personal favorite from Chatelaine, so i’m very happy to see you choose that song for remixes.
Hope to hear more from you as always, and i wish you the very best in this project
    Love,
    Chris

    Hi,
I found Chatelaine via a tip from a pal on the Bill Nelson forum. I always loved Curve, and I love the sound of this new work. Shifting Sands is brilliant !. Thank you for the stream, and I look forward to hearing more.

It’s an amazing recording and well worth the wait. Honestly, the best thing about this work is your voice, Toni. It is at the forefront here, and is in itself its own instrument. Very powerful. The last three songs are an astonishing triptych. ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪

    Hi Toni,

    Finally, here you are!
Thanks so much for your new project. Terrific songs! I’m very pleased to listen to your voice again.
I’ve been loving Curve since day one and also your side projects like Scylla’s unpublished cd and the Faults’ song with Acid Android for instance.
Chatelaine is an amazing new adventure!

    Thank you.

    Hi Toni

Congratulations on the new project and album! It is very beautiful and heartfelt and I am so happy you are still creating music. I know its a difficult and arduous process to make an album so I hope it has rekindled your love for music. Hopefully you will decide to play a few gigs with this album, I feel it would be even more stunning/epic live!

Glad your album is finally out. Bought it yesterday. Its awesome !!
Love “Life Remains”. Could play that one all day !

Keep up the great work, glad you never lost faith.

Oh, fantastic! I can never get enough of your voice, Ms. Halliday. I expect to be playing plenty of Chatelaine on my show.
Is there a North American tour planned any time soon?

  19. Posted June 25, 2010 at 3:41 am | Permalink

I agree with Peter – your voice and style have been SORELY missed! I immersed myself in all the “Curve” music verging on a sweaty obsession!(and I am picky – see my website). I’m really enjoying this beautiful new material. I do hope to hear some harder stuff and I hope you don’t mind me saying that. Flood producing the hard material would be a dream come true…he AND Alan are wonderful. As a composer of cello lines myself, I love the cello ornamentations. Again, love the new work! Thank you so much for putting out new material…a warm welcome back.

    Welcome back, Toni,
It took so long and a kind of empty without your voice and vitility. Although, it seems to me, it was yesterday, when I first heard your voice on Turkey Crossing via radio in Bulgaria. Later I had the Cuckoo album I have listened for a long time. Two years later, when I heard you on “Leftftism” – it was (and will always be) a pure magic!!! You’re original!!!
I like your new stuff, but I really miss Curve…Come Clean is one of my all time favs!!!
Well, the hardest part – Is there any chance to get back and cooparate with Dean and to higher up what you have done to a new level? Becouse your music is really unique and (in my oppinion) shouldn’t be ruined… For example, James (my favourite band) has been separated for seven years… But, they managed to get back together and bring their energy to a new level to the world. There are a lot of examples, BTW… You’re ORIGINAL!!!
P.S. And tell Leftfield, that the song, if not sung by you is a crap. ;)
    Respect from Sofia, Bulgaria.

Let me say thank you again for the new tracks. Hope this new project will get all the success it deserves.
If you have the chance please have a look at our website, we design books and we’re determined to produce a book about Curve.
    Please get in touch. Thanks.

    Hey, Toni!

It’s great to have you back in our ears. It’s been way too long.

When is the Chatelaine stuff released on CD? (I can’t be doing with the download thing – it’s killing music more than home-taping ever did!).

the new songs, they…are…amazing. absolutely beautiful. i didn’t know if the day would ever come that you would do new music with the state of the music industry. these songs are greater than anything a fan could have ever imagined, and they just get better and better as the tracks go along.

I am so incredibly happy to hear something from you again. I read some interviews with you and your comments about writing, the music industry, coming back with a new direction (?), etc. Hearing your voice and the sound on Broken Bones is absolutely great, and seems clearly linked to your sound in the past, albeit a more mature one. I still recommend Curve to friends looking for something new, but will definitely pass this album on as much as I can. Your voice is incredible. Best of luck –

Just found out about Chatelaine yesterday on Last.fm, listened to the album once on the main page here & today bought it on iTunes. So excited to hear great new music from one of the best vocalists of our time, I thought we’d lost you to other pursuits forever! Love the album, excellent work by all involved. Best wishes for the future, but beware because now you’ve given me hope that there will be more to come, hehe. Now following you on Twitter, don’t be a stranger!

I’ve been looking for this release for more than a year, and finally I can hear every single track!
No song reminds me about your earlier work within Scylla or Curve (except the synth part and verse in Shifting Sands, more of Recoil tho), but at the same time your voice is still amazing, still original and magical! Piano is quite unusual to hear underneath your voice, but it fits perfectly, no doubt. I also enjoyed lyrics pretty much, they’re quite different and at the same time rhymes perfectly.
Maybe I’m stuck in old-school quite alot but I respect you for your work while not using any of modern influences like most of artists of today do, you’ve really shown how the work should be done with this album.
I still would like to order your album since I’m an addict when it comes to beautiful music, I’m one of those fools who’s proud he had ruined his hearing over listening to Curve Ü
So I’m talking FLACs here man, can’t wait to order your album. I also enjoy the cover, fits the content just fine! Calm and confident.
    Be well, Toni, love you!

I love what I’m hearing but I am a bit behind the times and downloading is a bit advanced for me. How can I buy a copy on CD?? Even though I’m only 35, I grew up on cassettes and vinyl… so consider us “oldies”. Mmmmm vinyl… imagine this album on vinyl….I havn’t missed any of your physical purchases over the years and only being able to hear this album from the site and not in my car or from my stereo speakers is agonizing. In the meantime I will try and find a friend who can help me download it. Fingers crossed.
